How to fill in a receipt template
- Write the receipt number and the date you received the money.
- Enter who paid you and your own name or business name.
- Describe what the payment was for, as specifically as you can.
- Enter the amount in numbers and words and tick the payment method.
- Sign it, give the original to the payer and keep a copy.
Word or PDF receipt template?
Use Word if you want to change the wording or reuse the layout. Send PDFs to customers, because they can't be edited by accident.
